I've just switched carriers as I've moved to Barbados, but when i try to activate the data on my phone with the new sim, it says the phone is incompatible with the service.
I was advised by the new carrier to cancel the old data plan (which was prepaid so i had just forgotten about it) and to try again. It's still not working... someone help me please! '
Could it be that the phone isn't unlocked for data?

Hi T3hGh0sT
To use your BlackBerry on another provider, you will first need to contact the original provider to have it unlocked.
Thanks

The BlackBerry doesn't just need to be removed from their plan, they need to provide you a code to unlock the SIM, which will allow you to use your BlackBerry on other networks.

The phone was purchased unlocked. So i'm wondering if this means that activating a carrier's plan locks your blackberry? As far as i can see, in options > device > advanced > sim card,
sim disabled
network disabled
network subet disabled
service provider disabled
corporate : disabled
Meaning the phone is unlocked right?
This begs the question, how do you check if the phone is data locked?

Yes this means that the SIM is unlocked. Can you send me your PIN via Private Message so that I can take a look?
Thanks
