Bold 9790 overheating and trackpad problem

I got my bold 9790 in 29/12/12 and haven't had any problems other than it getting very warm until now! Today 26/03/13 the phone has felt warm all day and the trackpad has decided to stop working! I took the battery out (whilst phone was on) held the trackpad button for a few seconds and the reinserted the battery however it has not worked! I can select with the trackpad ie. Click it but I cannot move it. The phone has sustained no damage ie. It hasn't been droped or anything like that - I would appriciate any advice! J

Re: Bold 9790 overheating and trackpad problem

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:

  • KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode

It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.

Good luck and let us know!
