Bold 9900 40% screen black and 'dead' pixels accross rest

Hi

My Bold 9900 (1 year old) developed a fault (not dropped nor got wet, etc) about 2 months ago; the lower 40% of the screen is black and does not display anything. The touch-screen still works on this area, however. If I take a screen grab, the picture shows the entire screen fine. In addition, there are numerous 'dead' pixels (look like dust) throughout the top 60% of the screen.

Is this a common issue? Is there anything I can do?

Running 7.1 Bundle 2061 on o2

Thanks

Jon

It was a present and I don't think I'll be able to find out / get the receipt, etc.

Can it be sent back to BB direct?

Hmm. no such place really, and it's clearly defective. Not a common problem then?
