Well after getting a 9300 a week ago, I'm back to the start again. Had to take my 9300 (curve 3G) back today because of the horrible trackpad and software glitches. Tried to exchange it for a 9780 but found out that they are now being discontinued so really dont know what to do.... out of the 9900 and 9790 and 9810 which one is the best for reliability and battery life?

Hard to say, but I will say there is a ver of 7.1 for pretty much all of new models. The 9790 hasn't been so frequent with updates but seems not bad as a phone, just don't like the shape.

9810 is good but you don't get the options that the 9900 has, so your back to the beginning really.

So those of you who have had the 9900 since the release date (or close to the release date) how much has the phone improved in terms of battery life, funtionality and performance with all the software updates/leaks for the phone from the day you got it to now?

Only proble I have is with bluetooth. Battery life is ok when set to always. Bluetooth has problems with my car kit. OS 7.0 always connected fine.

I have had mine since October, had every OS apart from one of the latest 2 on.

The difference from new is amazing, even if still not perfect.

Battery, UMA, Signal Strength. All has improved.

As for Bluetooth, never had an issue, I stream through my parrot car kit, tether to my playbook and connect to my laptop, all with no issue.

@ifraser has the bricking issue been completely eliminated from OS7 devices?.... also sorry to go off topic and keep mentioning the other devices but for a day to day phone which one would be the best when comparing 9810, 9900 and 9790 considering I'd be using the phone for all the usual things (calls and texts) as well as internet browsing, facebook and BBM??... also how long does the battery last roughly on the 9900 for you with the software version you have on your 9900?

I have not heard of any recently bricking, I believe that was a batch issue which RIM have hoefully sorted.

It is very hard for me to say, I use mine for business, and a lot of social networking and using this latest leak. Am getting battery from 8am to at least 10pm now almost every day, the only day I have had issues are ones I have been one the phone for a long time. Fyi I have 2 9900's in the house. Both now have 7.1.0.342 so gives a good comparison.

Looking at that picture it seems like there has been a big improvement when it comes to the battery, did you use a charger between 10 and 12 on the graph as it seems to go up slightly??

I really am stuck between the 9900 and 9810 now. 9900 has such an amazing keyboard with a poor camera, a battery which isn't really able to last long enough and the phone is not guaranteed not to 'brick' if I get one. Whereas the 9810 hasn't got the best keyboard but has a better camera and better battery life and much less likely to brick also some people have reported a problem with the loudspeaker. That's just what I understand from the reviews and different forums. Please could someone let me know whether I'm right with what I said as I need to get a new phone within the next few days.
