I have just swapped from a HTC to the 9900 and thought I had made a huge mistake. I love the phone but the battery drained really quickly. Have found that that if I go into the switch application screen lots of apps were running in the background as I hadn't gone into the menu to close them properly. I had just pressed cancel when leaving an app. This meant that the phone got hot as it was running lots of apps and the battery only lasted hours. Since doing this I can gets a couple of days out the battery before recharging. Hope this helps as it is a great phone.

and update your OS to the leaked 474 or 503 and you will really get a better battery life compared to 440 or previous

Last comment is a definate. Check the forum. And .503 is needed. I am still running today after 13hrs. Amazing!!

Thats almost how I can get 500 miles on my car on only 1 gallon of fuel.. I keep it parked up in the garage....

If only. That's 13hrs with heavy usage. 3G on, wifi and bluetooth both used but not at same time.

Social feeds used again heavily tonight.

When will this update be available publicly? Is it still in beta? The device will not locate the update and ATT doesn't have it available. I have seen the links to the update  in .exe format but I don't have a PC available to me--only mac platform.

Right now I can barely get a day's use out of the 9900 with moderate use, closing apps, using 2G, etc. I feel BB has to do something because the advertised battery life is very close to the 9000 and 9700 but not performing nearly close to those units.

.540 will download and try it,
Hope to get more battery improvement on it.

I have had it on since this morning. Looking as good as .503 at least. All it fixed was a slight email issue I believe.

Have you tried the official OS 7.0.0.503 released from A1 yet?
