At night I like to switch off all data, so No emails, internet, BBM or anything like that.
So I only have SMS and calls coming thru. Mostly for emergencies, and to save battery from 'Push'.
My old 8520 I could go into Data Services and it would disable it all.
On my Bold, it won't. I switched them off last night, but at midnight I woke, and checked phone and saw emails had come thru - and I could browse the web!
I have 3G, so maybe it's to do with that, I don't know.
HELP!!! PLEASE!!!

Did you have wifi on?

I did, but then I did with my 8520. I never turned it on.
If I switched off 'Data', it would just disable the phone checking for any data at all.

I'm pretty sure on the 9900 'data services' only relates to 3g, because I've always been able to use wifi with data services off.

Yes that is a good idea, tho wtih O2, if you are on Pay As You Go, you get 10mb free per day. So if yo udo no browsing and just eamils and BBM, it's free anyway.
Not to disrespect your answer, but surely..... SURELY if you turn off "data", it's turned off??!!!
If not, why does it turn it off on other BBs, but not on this one??

You probably still had your WiFi connected, and the 9900 on OS7.1, even with Data Services = Off, will still deliver data over the WiFi connection.
So, turn off WiFi, turn off Data Services, leave ON the Mobile network and you can still receive phone and SMS.
