My Device: Blackberry Bold 9900

Bold 9900 will not stay connected to Virgin Media Netgear Superhub

I have just upgraded to a 9900 Bold and am experiencing problems staying connected to my wireless network at home. Basically I added the wifi profile and it connected fine then after a while it loses the connection and when I try to reconnect it says failed to authenticate against the network. I tried rebooting my wireless router (Netgear Super Hub from virgin media) and it connects again only for the same thing to happen again after 20 mins. It used to work fine with my old 9700 bold. Any advice on how to make if work??

Re: Bold 9900 will not stay connected to Virgin Media Netgear Superhub

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Here is a KB that discusses that error:

  • KB29914 Receiving error "Failed to connect to the network" when attempting to connect BlackBerry smartphone to wi-fi network

Being your home network, I doubt the listed cause to be useful, but you never know...perhaps you have some other authentication method running on your WAP that may perhaps be causal?

Good luck and let us know!
