The phone turned off one day and will not tunr back on. When you plug it into a charger the red LED light comes on, followed by 3 short flashes. It wont connect to any comupter. I have taken it to cell phone repair places and neither are able to do anything. Any suggestions?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB):

1. With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
2. Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
3. Remove the battery
4. Wait 15 minutes
5. Insert the battery
6. Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does

This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.

It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:

1. Obtain a known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
2. Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens

The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem.

I just tired this kick start and it did not work. The phone still will not turn on. It wont even recognize it on a computer. Tired pluging into a couple different ones. Any other suggestions?

Yes...you have not yet, as far as I can tell, completed all that I recommended above. The 2nd part above discusses tests to determine if the BB or the battery is the problem.

Plus, I cannot tell...did you attempt the kick start via USB to the computer? Because, if so, that invalidates that process...you must use a known good wall charger for that kick start.

The battery has been tested and works fine. I completed the restart exactly as recommended previously. Followed the instructions, connected to a known BB wall charger(same one that charges my other BB), followed times and other instructions exactly as was written. I have been told this is a known BB issue. Do you have other suggestions?

OK, then the next thing I know of is this drastic recovery attempt:

Beyond that, formal support, in hands, by a qualified technician would be the next step.

Sorry this did not work either. As I stated earlier, the phone will not turn on and is not recognized by any computer.

Yes, you did state that -- but you did not state if you had attempted that exact drastic recovery method. So, since you came here asking for help, the only thing we can do is provide what we know of that is beyond what you have stated. I think that we've done that with as much detail and options as possible. I don't think there is anything left to recommend that you try.

Hi I had the same problem with my bold when it ran out of battery completley. It would just not start from th wall charger or usb connected to the computer either. I bought a universal battery charger ( a charger that plugs into th wall and just charges the battery alone) It cost me 7 uk pounds. And when th battery completley charged I put it back in my Bold 9900 and it started up as normal ad worked fine :-)
