Bold 9930 PTT

After updating my phone. The PTT will not work. The APP is there but it will not let me download it. Keeps saying "This application requires the following module, which is not installed: MPTT". What can I do to fix this problem?

The software update that was performed was that an update from your mobile service provider or was the software obtained from another source? What version of BlackBerry Device Software is currently installed in your device?

This also happened to me when I updated to software version 7.1 bundle 2705 using the Blackberry desktop software......Any idea how to get the MPTT module installed.

Yes it is the the blackberry update the came across my phone to update the software to 7.1 bundle 2705.

I have two 9930 phones that I am trying to add PTT service and when I attempt to load the app it tells me that the MPTT module is missing and the app cannot be installed. 

Both phones have 7.1 bundle 2705

 

Any help on how to install this module woudl be appreciated.  When I spoke with Verizon tech support the only suggestion I got was to update the software, but since it is up to date no other suggestions.

It seems there is a problem with the software but no one will admit it. I still have not resolved the proble.

The only 'fix' for this is to roll back the phone to 7.1 bundle 2123.

 

Blackberry, continuing its long tradition of being horrible, has no actual fix for this issue as of yet. I know this because I spent hours on the phone with both Verizon and Blackberry tech support trying to get PTT to work on 5 new Bold 9930's.

 

The trick to doing this is you have to get the Blackberry Desktop Manager for your particular carrier specific to the OS you want to roll back to, unless you already have a copy of an older OS backed up.

 

Hey Blackberry, if you want to slow the inevitable sinking of your ship, you could at least not waste people's time trying to get something to work when you know your garbage software update broke it.

 

I'm currently moving all my users off Blackberries to iPhones. Only the people who need PTT still have to carry these awful devices.
