Just wondering if there is a way to have a time/date stamp on pictures I take with the camera.

The camera should be doing that already. How is it naming your pictures now?

Unless you re-name a picture the" number string".jpg is date/time stamp

Just an img. number. I can go into properties on the phone and it will give me the info but if i transfer it to my computer, open it then hit properties, the date comes up as the date it was transferred. I would like to have the time and date appear on the picture itself if so desired.

In the sense that a standalone digital camera can have an imprint on the image no.

That complete string IMG00001-20100502-1820.jpg (for example)  is 2 May 2010 at 1820 hours and that will not change if you transfer the image to your PC.

Are we talking about create time? It will be the same if you move instead of copy the file. I aslo have a time info in the file name as well.

What I'd like to know is if you can get the camera to actually place a time stamp on the picture itself
