Bold deleting txt messages

Twice now, my phone has deleted sms txts on its own.  There is no warning or "glitch" that occurs.  I just notice that when I go to the screen to look at either new or old messages, I notice many messages are gone.  The only messages that actually remain are the ones I have intentionally saved.  It deletes both sent and received messages.  My settings are such that I want to keep messages for a 3 month period, yet messages are deleted regardless.  Does anyone have problems with this? does anyone know how to prevent txts from being auto-deleted?

Re: Bold deleting txt messages

Hi,

This generally happens when device not having enough space to store any new sms or mail.

Pls confirm u have enough memory space with device.

Click on Settings / Option on BB device ----> Click status.....and check for available memory.

Re: Bold deleting txt messages

I have not noticed my phone log being deleted, but I have not intentionally deleted anything from there either.  I recently changed the settings, but there may have been deletions from there as well.  I have about 6MB free from looking at the status page. Does this correspond to flash or on board memory?  From looking at the specs on the bold, I should have a lot more memory free than I do.

Is there another way to find out which things are running in the background other than the "switch application" function?  I have 2 third party apps that I run-- slacker radio and epocrates (pharmacology), and only epocrates is in the switch application list.  Is there a way to prevent things like BB messenger from actively running?  I never use this program.

If memory is my issue, do my email apps also run when BB goes to push mail? I have also looked for a way to slow how often it syncs with email, but have also not found this setting either.

Thanks so much for your help with this.
