Bold gets very warm during calls

I've just recently upgraded from the Curve to a Bold and found that the handset gets very warm/hot during calls.  Is this normal for the Bold? I have never experienced a handset getting so warm before, regardless of the make/model.

Does anyone know if this could be a fault? Am obviously concerned regarding possibility of detrimental health effects.

No is not normal, goes to your carrier and change the device.
