Brand New 9900 Application Storage Error

Hi

I had a lot of problems with my old 9900, and now I have a new one.

But already one of the problems from the old phone, is on the new one, notably, the Application Storage in Options.

It constantly changes.  I checked it and it was on 0.0kb.  I did a battery pull and it's now back to 89.2mb.

What could be causing this?  It's just gone down and down and down.

Plus, even this phone still had the "timer" showing occasionally, and not while it's running much at all in the background.  Only Facebook and BBM.

Re: Brand New 9900 Application Storage Error

This is a common BlackBerry problem. You have a lot of data on the device to only have 89MB after a battery pull. Make sure that pictures and other media are being stored on the media card and not the applcation memory.

You'll want to watch how long it takes the device to run out of memory and reboot before that happens.

Re: Brand New 9900 Application Storage Error

A Common Problem? the main issue is when you do come to do anything with an App, or mostly when you want to download a new one, you can't. And with my battery door, it's nigh on impossible to take the door off without a knife head.

All my music and photos are on the media card.

Re: Brand New 9900 Application Storage Error

Yes, a common problem. I have 130MB free yet I must reboot nearly every day otherwise the memory runs down to zero. I'd love to know why. It's been a problem since the very first BlackBerry I ever had back in 2004.

You can also press alt + rt shift + del to reboot the device.

Let's see where all your memory is being used. Go to Options >type status in the search bar. Go into the status menu. Hit the menu key and select "Database Sizes." Please post the info from that screen.

Re: Brand New 9900 Application Storage Error

Ok, great. That doesn't look to bad. Your issue must be too many installed apps.

How many, and what 3rd party apps do you have installed?

Re: Brand New 9900 Application Storage Error

My guess is one of those apps is hogging application memory space. I would suspect Photo editor ultimate, Tube Map, Nobex Radio, viber and likely in that order.

Even if you free up some memory many devices must be rebooted periodically in order to not run out of memory.

Re: Brand New 9900 Application Storage Error

Neither Photo Edit, tube Map or Nobex have been run in over a week. Viber runs occasionally, bt isn't running at the moment.
