Re: Calls cut off

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Hopefully you already have this sorted, but just in case.

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

If that does not help, then you must think carefully...what happened just BEFORE this behavior started? A new app? An update? A configuration change? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest thing could perhaps be causal...and attempt to undo that.

Otherwise, you might try operating in Safe Mode for a bit to see if the behavior continues:

  • KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode

It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. If in Safe Mode the behavior does not continue, then you know the cause to be one of your 3rd party apps. If the behavior does continue, then you might want to perform a full OS reload just in case some part of the OS has become corrupt.

Otherwise, you might have a hardware issue, for which no amount of software, OS, or internet-distance troubleshooting can be of much use. You would in that case want to exercise your warranty provisions, which normally are via your original place of purchase, your mobile service provider, or an authorized service center...it varies by region, so it's not possible to tell you what your specific method would be for that.

Good luck and let us know!
