My Device: Bold 9900

Can't use BB Bold 9900 as Auto Update hungup at 3 percent

I had to disconnect my last full backup in February to run to catch a train

and it hasn't allowed the phone to backup since, though it has kept my

computer up to date on contacts and photos until about a month ago

when it just wouldn't do anything.

SO I tried to update the software wirelessly on my BB Bold 9900 the other night.

I left it overnight and in the morning it was hung up at 30 percent.

I kept taking out the battery and finally got the use of it back.

But it had deleted 90 percent of over 3,000 contacts!!!!

The it turned out it was on some auto backup cycle.

And overnight it went to backup and got to 3 percent.

I've been taking out the battery all morning

and can't get the home screen back AT ALL!

HELP!!!!!

I was waiting to get the new one so I really don't

want to start with another "old" BB.

And this has really soured me on the whole system.

I am a good typist and hate the IPhone typing issue so

i am just lost and this is AWFUL.

HELP!!!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

From your post, I am confused...are you perhaps interchanging the terms "backup" and "synchronize"? Those are two completely different functions, and if you are indeed interchanging them, they would completely change the evaluation of your symptoms, along with the resolution path for you to follow.

Please clarify...indeed, correct your original post if you can, so that it can be properly read and understood. While you are at it, would you mind dropping the font size? The huge fonts you used make it quite difficult to read.

Thanks!
