Just got my blackberry bold yesterday but i'm unable to reive data from other mobiles via bluetooth. I have paired with the devices and i'm able to transfer from my blackberry to them.
Is there a setting on the phone that automatically kicks anything away? I have the phones as trusted and encryption turned off fo ease but with no luck.
any help would be greatly appreciated
regards
S. Kelly

After you have paired get the file sent by bluetooth and then on your phone select menu, Receive Via Bluetooth.
It does not operate in the normally accepted way and took me days to figure out.

I'm just rephraseing Amberlodge1 words "Just pair your device then send the content over Bluetooth. Now go to your Media application -> go to appropriate content folder -> click Menu button and select Receive Using Bluetooth."

Hi Guys
I have the same problem on the blackberry storm.
I am trying to send my contacts over via bluetooth from my sony p990 to my storm but i can not get it to connect.
I have them both paired together but connection fails everytime.
If I go to media it connects but I dont know where its sending the file as its not appearing under contacts.
Any help appreciated?![]()

Hmmm...I wonder what you did that was so difficult. If your old phone had a PC interface, you could have moved all of the music and pics you wanted from it via your PC...if your old device didn't have a PC interface, then calling the BB system c**p is kind of unfair, don't you think? BBs can interface wonderfully with a PC, functioning as a USB drive (or drives, if you have a media card inserted). See this article:
For your contacts, calendar, and such, RIM provides a device switch wizard that is compatible with many non-BB smartphones...see this KB:
And, even if your old device is not compatible, there remain other tricks...if your other device/software can export your information to ASCII or CSV files, the RIM software can import that into your new BB:
And, lastly, if you already are using a compatible PIM, the RIM software can simply synchronize against that:
Good luck.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
See this KB:
Substitute, in the KB, the appropriate instructions for your other device in place of the KB section for the sending device. Do not skip the "Receive Using BT" step on the receiving BB...nothing will transfer if you do. Further, you must execute the Receive command for each and every file transfer...not just once.
Good luck and let us know!
