I have been totally frustrated with an inability to get appointments that I make on the phone to sync to the Outlook Calendar! Anything that I put on the Outlook Calendar goes to the phone just fine. My sync settings say to sync back & forth between device & desktop, but it's not working...
Am I the only one to whom this frustration occurs?

Hello RYPROMOS and welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
Sorry to hear you are having issues synching your Calendar to Microsoft® Outlook®.
On your device, open the Calendar and when you go to create a new appointment, what is displayed at the top for "Send Using"?
Under Options>Device>Advanced System Settings>Default Services, what does your Calendar (CICAL) show displayed as the default Calendar?
Thanks!

I have had the same problem with my Curve 8520 since upgrading the Desktop Software to Version 7.
When I sync my calendar it won't sync any entries created on the phone. I see from other forums that it suggests that I should change my Default Services to "Outlook" but that is not an option on my phone - the only choices I am given are my email services, so I chose Gmail. These will not sync with Outlook but remain on the phone.
When I create an entry in Outlook and then sync it, the "Send Using" entry is set as "Device Default", whereas the ones created on the phone have it set as "Gmail".
I have wiped the phone a couple of times and looked to sync it one-way from Outlook but it always reverts to this status and it's very frustrating.
I also have noticed that any of my Contacts that are linked to my Facebook won't sync properly - the discrepancies between the profile photos, which each link to a different temporary file on my laptop's hard drive, even though the photos are the same. If anyone has a solution or could link to one that would be great.
Thanks a million.

Hello nicell and welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
To clarify, on your device in your Calendar, under Menu>Options>Calendars you are seeing your Gmail account? When you click into the Gmail calendar, is the box for Wireless Sync checked off or blank?
When you attempt the sync with Outlook, do you get any sort of error saying your Calendar is syncing wirelessly?
As for your Contacts, did you choose the option to replace your contact's photos with their Facebook profile photo or are they to display the default you used in your device?
Thanks!

Hi,
Thanks for coming back to me; I'd be thrilled if this could be sorted out.
Calendar
In the device calendar, under Memo>Options it lists several calendars, including both Device Default and Gmail (along with Facebook and a few linked to other email addresses that I rarely use). I could list the rest if that helps, but I don't really use the others and can confirm in any event that ALL of them have wireless sync greyed out and set to NO (i.e., not to sync wirelessly). I think that is because I turned off wireless sync in Desktop Manager but you might know whether that makes sense.
Accordingly, I don't get any error messages saying that it is syncing wirelessly.
I know you didn't ask this but I thought I might point out that under Options>Advanced Options>Default Services, the only options I can choose from are my email addresses and Facebook, as Device Default does not show up.
Contacts
I take it that the option you are referring to is the one within the Facebook application, which is to "Update existing photos in your Blackberry contacts list with Facebook friend profile photos". That box is ticked, in other words it IS set to update the photos. When I sync with Desktop Manager I have tried to have the device override Outlook and vice versa but it crashes the sync regardless, with an error message saying "Invalid Record Sync". I can check and confirm the exact phrasing of the error message if that helps.
I hope that I have answered your questions properly but if not, do let me know and I'll rectify that immediately.
Thanks a million,
M
