Change microSD card in BB bold 9780

Hi,

Want to change the internal micro SDcard from my 9780 to a bigger card.

How can I do it without loosing information and files from the OP system stored in that card?

Anyone can help.

Regards

Paulo

Re: Change microSD card in BB bold 9780

Hi,

All OS related data is saved on your device memory.

To ensure you do not lost any data on the SD card.

First safely remove it.

This can be done by going into options>storage>(press menu key and select - "safely remove memory card").

And remove the SD card.

If your query is resolved then please click on - 'Accept as Solution'
Thank You.

  • Connect your BlackBerry to the PC.
  • View the Media Card from your PC through My Computer and select the media card, sometimes labeled as "BlackBerry'.
  • Copy all media  off.
  • Search all folders you've copied to the PC for "thumbnails.dat" and delete those files, normally found in each pictures or camera folder.
  • Disconnect and Insert the new Media Card into the BlackBerry.
  • Copy from your PC to the new media card.

Re: Change microSD card in BB bold 9780

Thanks for the reply.

My situation looks a little bit diffrent.

I have 2 contact files. One is from Outlook and another from Icloud. They are not connected between each other, i have to update, or better saying synchronize between them by copy paste.

Than after this copy paste the Icloud contacts sync with IPAD and the Outlook contacts should do the same with Blackberry but it doesn't.

That is why i'm saying that the siyuation is different of what is described in the link that you send me.

Re: Change microSD card in BB bold 9780

Sorry, I'm not sure who you're speaking to, I didn't give you any link  in this thread.

And using a new SD Media card in your BlackBerry will have absolutely no effect on your contacts, Outlook, iCloud, etc., because no contacts are stored on the SD media card.

So, I'm pretty confused myself now.
