Connector Specific Error - 9900 Calendar Sync

[ Edited ]

When syncing with BB desktop software, addresses sync fine but Caledar will not.  It stops cold stating "Connector Specific Error".   And nothing else.

Have reset it several times but it does not help.

Having very same issue - used to work but now it doesn't - anyone from RIM or otherwise have a solution for us? I am sure we are not the only ones with this issue . . .

Re: Connector Specific Error - 9900 Calendar Sync

That is depressing isn't it.

If I can find a solution I will get back to you - I got no help from my Provider as they sid Blackberry had not authorized them to address this fault so they had no training....  I then went to Blackberry thech support - they aid they will help me but only if I pay $49 which made me angry because this is a brand new phone.  I am going after the store that - Future Shop - and see what happens next.

Somthing in not right - even with a brand new phone.

Best

Re: Connector Specific Error - 9900 Calendar Sync

Add me to the I suspect growing list of those having the identical problem.  Worked great, suddenly doesn't calendar sync on both my PC with outlook 2003 (xp pro) and on my notebook with outlook 2007 (windows 7 pro).  Come'on BB, what's up with this?

Sadly me too!  I am trying to sync with Outlook 2010 and the issue is very recent.

Re: Connector Specific Error - 9900 Calendar Sync

Yet very old with DM.  I got my calendar to sync yesterday by doing a restore to an earlier backup before the error started showing up and then re-entered the appointments I knew about.  But now my contacts are giving me the "cannot log into the exchange server" error!  I haven't researched this yet.  (insert non happy face icon here)

Re: Connector Specific Error - 9900 Calendar Sync

I reinstalled the device system s/w and the synch now works without error. But wait. There's more: when I did that, my email stopped working on the device. I spent a few hours mucking about with Rogers support, who told me it was a RIM BIS issue and escalated it to the RIM folks (or so I was told). It took all night, and I lost a few emails, but maintained them on my laptop. Everything is working now, but it sure was an adventure. Would have been nice to have a cleaner fix for this to say the least.

Re: Connector Specific Error - 9900 Calendar Sync

Much like windows, I tried a calendar restore from a recent backup that was before the problem just appeared.  That worked.  Sure, I had to re-enter a few appointments but it is syncing (for now).

Re: Connector Specific Error - 9900 Calendar Sync

I ran a security wipe, resent the email service book and I can now sync without issue.

Re: Connector Specific Error - 9900 Calendar Sync

I'm having the same problem as well. Also on a new phone. Nice quality assurance testing at RIM!

Your solution sounds great. Now I just have to figure out how to run a security swipe and resend the email service.

Wouldn't it be nice of RIM would send a workaround or fix advisory  email to all affected customers when they learn of a product issue? I mean, how hard can that be? Clearly, they know the issue exists by now. You figured out the fix and told us about it. Why couldn't RIM? If I treated my customers this way, I would go out of business.
