I have a BB Bold 9900 and went to use a flashlight app already installed on the phone. The phone shut down and rebooted. When it booted back up I lost everything? Not sure why or how. What I am concerneced about is getting everything back. I was able to retrieve all lost pictures with a data recovery program. With that being said I am sure I can do the same for the other missing information, contacts and emails etc.... What I can't find and have looked all over the support forums is what is the name of the contacts file and where would it be located going through windows explorer. No I was not smart enough to make a back up of the phone before this happened so restoring it to a previous back up is completely out of the question. Thanks in advance for any direction or help with my problem.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
There is no "file" to search for to retrieve contacts...nor calendar, nor messages, nor any of the other protected databases:
All of those were contained within the protect AppMemory area, which is not accessible by other than the BB OS itself (plus the various backup facilities that are available). Hence, for contacts, unless you have a non-BB source of data from which to restore, then you have lost them.
For future reference, here is a discussion about backups:
Good luck...but sorry for your loss.
