There is a serious problem with the way contacts are synced between the phone and Gmail.
I've enabled the feature and ended up with having up to 8 times the same contact on Gmail and then in the address book.
I think it's caused by the Facebook application. Whenever contacts are linked, there seems to be problems.
I've then disabled the "Allow duplicate" feature and then the sync engine decided it would merge contacts. I have the same first name with 3 different last names and Facebook contacts are then linked to the wrong contact, etc.
It's a total disaster. I recommend people stay away from the automatic sync feature and resort to external applications like mIQ which works very well.
Apparently nothing has changed since the days where we had to use a 3rd party application.
