so nobody has been able to answer this straightforward question so I'm going to ask it again being very specific;
How do you convert .jpr.rem to .jpg ? Please answer if you know how to do this using two things
1) a computer with any kind of software
2) a .jpg.rem file
Please do not respond with an answer that requires using a blackberry, as I have thrown mine out and now use an iphone. thanks
Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Given your "conditions" for replies, I suspect you shall be waiting for an infinite amount of time...see this KB:
See especially, within that KB, the paragraph that says this:
I believe that your discarded BB would fall into the "broken" aspect of this statement. BB's are designed with security as their hallmark...as such, the files you wish to recover are now forever lost to you.
Good luck!

oh and no worries, was just hoping I wouldn't have to use a bb every again. I'll just borrow one and recover my photos.

just something to think about.

That is probably not going to work.

Hi there, I dont think thats going to work. I have tried that option i dont get that kind of info.
Anyways, Can i download BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.1 to transfer encrypted files on my desktop? Would that work for me ?
If not, then i am left with the same question how to convert JPG.REM images from my blackberry to just JPEG format?

I FINALLY figured this out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it's EASY!!!!!!!
Go to Options/Security/Encryption. Uncheck all of the encryption stuff.
Back out of that then go to your Media Icon and click on it.
***Make sure your device is NOT connected to your computer when you do this!
Hit the Menu button and select Add New Folder. Click on the drop down arrow and select Media. Then name your folder and click OK.
Now go into the folder where all of your jpg.rem files are. Hit your menu button and select the "Select" button. Now check all of the jpg.rem pix by clicking on each one....a little check mark should appear.
When you are done checking all of them, hit the menu button and select Copy.
Now back out of that folder and go into the new one that you created. Hit the Menu button and select paste.
Connect your device to your computer and upload the unencrypted files!!
Worked for me!
