Delay in receiving emails

When I first got my Bold I would receive the my email on my phone at the same time (if not before) it showed up on my desktop.  Now there is between a 10-15 minute delay from it shows up on my desktop to when it shows up on my phone.  Any hints?

Greetings, and welcome to the BlackBerry.com Support Forums.

 

A normal personal BIS account with a POP email servers will always see about a 15 minute cycle for the mail to be pushed. That is normal.

 

Gmail, Yahoo and other IMAP accounts will push instantly.

I have set up email account via IMAP but emails can take hours to come through unless I switch off and then back on, in which case they come straight through!

Also, I have a Hotmail account on the same device and that works perfectly!

ON your IMAP account, do you have "push enabled" if available, set to on?

I've cancelled and erset my IMAP account ensuring that "Push" is "On". Just had a load of emails come through so this may have fixed the prob.  I'll confirm later! many thanks for your help
