I just got a new BB 9700. My younger brother had uploaded porn videos in my phone. Later, I deleted them. However, the name of these videos still appear in my playlist.
If I say delete a particular item, I get a message: Are you sure you want to delete "XXX"? When I say press on delete icon, nothing happens.
I am avoiding formatting the card as I don't want to mess around wth the segregated folder present by default.
I have already tried the following things:
1) Pulled the battery and put it back.
2) Pulled out the media card and put it back.
3) Connect it to the computer and see if the videos show up. They do not.
Please help as it is embarassing when someone tries to look at my new phone.
I am on AT&T. Please edit your Personal Profile with your DEVICE TYPE, DEVICE OS and Carrier

If you have nothing on the phone that you want to save, format it with the device and those folders will come back.
There is also .dat files in the video folder that can become corrupt, you can safely delete them in mass storage mode when connected to a PC.

I am having the exact same problem! I transferred a whole season of mp4 vids to my BB and as I watched them, I deleted them with no problems. When I was almost out of shows, I transferred another whole season, but when i did that, all of the previous episodes that I had already deleted came back!
There doesn't seem to be an obvious way to delete them, as I have tried what the previous poster did...delete, confirm, then nothing gets deleted.
I dont want to lose all the stuff on my phone so reformatting isn't really an option. Please help!

My problem is solved.
I took back up of my phone data on the computer. Then, formatted the memory card using the phone.
Menu > Options > Memory > Format (after pressing the option key)
The device formatted the card. Thankfully, the deleted videos vanished from the playlist. All folders and system files are in place with no software issues.
Thanks for all the help.

to avoid deleted videos comes up again, try to copy the new videos to blackberry folder NOT to blackberry > videos, it would makes old deleted videos name comes back, try it will wokrs, then manually move the new videos from blackberry folder to videos folder in media card

Hi Guys, I had the same problem but figured it out with the help form "knottyrope". Just plug your BB into you computer and go to the Video folder on you media card. In that folder there is a HIDDEN file "BBThumbs.dat" that you can deleted. Then just safely remove you BB and go back to Videos on your phone, you BB will then recompile a list with all the current files in your video folder.
