Deleted mail box appearing in message folder

I have a Bold 9900. I deleted my mail boxes but its still appearing in the Messages folder. Its so annoying can some one please help :-(

Thanks for the response :-)

 

I went to options and then selected "Email Account Management" selected the mail box I wanted to delete and just hit DELETE. The email icon went off from the phone and there is no trace of having the email address in the "Email Account Management" screen.

 

Now the issue is emails send to that email address is still showing in my message folder :-(

OK, then try this please...

With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):

1) Register HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
  • Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app

2) Delete and Resend Service Books

  • KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
  • If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
  • Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

3) Reboot

  • With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
  • See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.

Now I have a new issue looks like it aint my day. Now I set up a new mail box and now I am getting 2 emails!!! One in mail box and the other in message folder and it is showing as 2 mails recieved :-(

So, what did you do to get to that point? You set up a new email box? Did you do the steps I gave you?

Please help me to understand...remember that I can't see you nor your device. I have only your words here to guide me, and from this new information, I am now totally lost...

Yes I did those steps. After that I added a new mail box the normal way of going to email account management. After that when I received an email it iss appearing in the mail box as well as in the folder. Basically if I receive one email there are 2 emails (one duplicate) in the folder so the folder is showing 2 emails hope this helps

Still confusing, since I cannot see you. By "folder", I assume you mean the separate email icon that was created when you went ahead and created the email account this new time? When working properly, you actually don't have duplicates -- rather, you have the same single email item showing in two different places...a "mirror" of each other, in a sense.

But it actually shouldn't do that, however, so what I'm going to next advise you do is to (please, this time, do this and nothing more!!):

  1. Remove ALL email accounts from this device
  2. Do a batt-pull reboot
  3. Conduct again the steps from post 4 above (this time, however, please tell me more than that you "did those steps"...please confirm that each step results exactly as I specified above)
  4. Clear your Messages database (note that this will likely clear ALL messages, including SMS history...you will need to be careful as you conduct this)
    • KB10167 How to clear the user content databases from the BlackBerry smartphone
  5. Do another batt-pull reboot
  6. Now re-integrate your email to your device and see if now functions normally
