Desktop manager shows calendar as not installed -can not sync

Hi, I have just updated to Desktop 6 and I use outlook for calendar.  The Desktop manager shows that the calendar is not installed and thus I can not sync with it.

Can any one help? :smileysad:

Re: Desktop manager shows calendar as not installed -can not sync

Hi robertford,

Try following this KB article for  a workaround for the calendar showing as uninstalled when setting up sync in Desktop Software 6.0. http://bbry.lv/aXA5vH

Thanks,

Re: Desktop manager shows calendar as not installed -can not sync

Hi, just tried this complete wipe-thing. Didn't really worked as I hoped.

What worked was to remove the mapped folder at the advanced set-up and added it again

Re: Desktop manager shows calendar as not installed -can not sync

There's gotta be some software developer types at RIM that can get a real fix for this.

I hate myself every f*cking day for buying this turd.

Re: Desktop manager shows calendar as not installed -can not sync

Is negativity really needed here? People are trying to help everyone.

If the workaround FrankieS posted doesnt work, Try what RGRayong posted. If that doesnt work. Then post here with that information and we can try further to help.

Re: Desktop manager shows calendar as not installed -can not sync

The solution (if you are an Outlook user) to this problem is NOT as difficult and irritating as RIM is making it out to be.

Simple solution is to ensure that the e-mail address for your Outlook Calendar matches what is registered on your device, and that the "Default Calendar" e-mail address selected on your device is the same as the e-mail address for your Outlook Calendar.

On your phone, go to Options >Advanced Options >Default Services

Once there, be sure Calendar (CICAL) shows the address of your Outlook Calendar.

Then click Save.

Then go back to Desktop Manager, and see that the Calendar checkbox is unchecked, but that IT DOES NOT say "Not Installed."  Simply check the box, or to be sure, click Configuration so that you can reconfigure or reconfirm the settings that should already be saved.

I got this solution from another post by a Torch9800 user who had the same exact problem and did not have to wipe his/her device; the solution was simple as above; linked here.

Cheers!

Make sure your default email account in Outlook is the same as your default account on your BB.
