Device Password Required

When I try and connect my blackberry device to the Blackberry Desktop Manager, I get the following message:

 

Device: USB-PIN: 255682C1

Please enter your device password (1/10):

 

Where do I get this password?  The password that unlocks my device doesn't for it....

 

Please help!!!

It's supposed to be that security password.

 

Do you have any numbers in the password or is it all letters?

It is the very same password, none other.

 

My advice, unplug your BB and re-enter and change the password to something VERY simple which you will get right on the PC keyboard. My guess is, and it is common, that you may be entering on your PC what you think is the same as what you enter on the BB, but it isn't. Create a very simple PW, and then you can duplicate it using Desktop Manager.

 

The 1/10 means you have used one of ten tries, afterwhich your BB will wipe itself of ALL personal data, contacts, calendar entries, etc.

I actually haven't changed the default password that came with the phone.  The password on the phone is simply 1234.

 

Doesn't seem to work on the desktop manager.

I have the same problem , but my keyboard is azerty & not qwerty & my pin is 9099 .I entered the the wrong pin & now it says wiping out data so I quickly plugged the battery out . Pls help.

This is the problem:

U are thinking your password is wrong because u arent typing it right! U are probably typing the "numbers" your password has, but u need to type the "letters" in your password device thingy............... type the actuall letters your numbers include! then youll be okay!

This was the important point! I thought of my password as all numbers on my phone...however the phone was reading them as letters (except for the "0." When I typed in the letters on those number keys it worked!! Yeah!!
