Somehow my home screen display is now showing 2 lines of my applications, which I don't like.
How can I change it back just to one line of apps in home screen??
help much appreciated!

thanks, though that only allows me to chose amount of columns the apps are sorted vertically.
so doesn't change the horizontal amount of columns on the home screen...
any more advice?

Read the chapter, learn the commands and try setting up some screens.

Have had the same problem. I restored a backup and the problem went away. Then several hours later when added a Bluetooth connection it came back, Ugh. Hopefully this is corrected in an OS update.
Also, it will really nice when a few apps get updated to OS 7. ALL of my 3rd party apps are not compatable with OS 7.

I've actually managed to fix it! because its a touch screen you can just slide it! so you can set it however you wish - super simple!
not had problems with any of my 3rd party apps, so so far I'm super happy with the phone!

You're absolutely right. Thanks!
I never thought to look at sliding the panel using the touch screen.
I see I can make it with the 2 rows that we hated, then when you expand and colapse it again it goes back only to those two rows. Ugh. Then, I see I can even change it to zero rows which was my preference in a theme for OS 6. I'm not sure if I'm going to go with 1 or zero rows now.... zero keeps the apps from being accidentally opened though when the screens not locked.
Kudos on finding the solution.

click and hold the ALL button (so it's highlighted but doesn't actually open anything) and slide it to as many or as few rows as you would like to have appearing in the Home Screen.
