E-mail Associated to Blackberry ID No Longer Active or Deleted

Members,

Here is my problem I forgot my Blackberry ID Password, when I tried to reset the password the e-mail verification is sent to the e-mail associated to my Blackberry ID, unfortunately this e-mail is a corporate e-mail which no longer exist as I no longer work for that employer.

I know I could do a wipe but I don't want to lose my Blackberry Messenger Contact. What are my options?

Best Regards,

Re: E-mail Associated to Blackberry ID No Longer Active or Deleted

Hello,

Unfortunately, your situation requires access to the email account associated with the BB ID in order for you to make the necessary correctly...all of the automated methods require this.

Your choices -- contact the former employer email admin and ask them if they could temporarily restore that email account so that you could receive the necessary email.

Create a new BB ID and lose all prior AppWorld records.

Create a new BB ID and contact your mobile service provider for formal support and escalation into RIM, to whom you would need to convince to manually migrate your prior AW records to the new BB ID.

I can't think of any other options...but I'm not sure why you believe this situation will result in your losing your BBM Contact List...

Good luck and let us know!

Re: E-mail Associated to Blackberry ID No Longer Active or Deleted

Hello,

Final resolution as follows

As I can't temporary request the e-mail admin to temporary recreate my e-mail hence the steps that I took as follows

1. Create a new BB ID (RIM confirmed they can't reset the password of a BB ID)

2. Backup Device

3. Security Wipe

4. Restore Device

5. Ready to Go

My BB is back and running well.

Thanks.

I do not know who you talked to, but this assertion is false.

Actually, in my interpretation of the OPs posts above, they cannot access the email account to which that original BB ID was registered, and hence could not receive the necessary password recovery email. Hence the need to abandon the prior BB ID and start over.

Cheers!
