Email Problem

Hello,

I have a problem I hope you can help me with. I have a Blackberry Bold 9700. When I first got it I setup a yahoo email address. It worked fine until I forgot the password. Now my yahoo mail is shut down. I want to delete that off my phone but it just keeps trying to hook up to yahoo mail. Is there a way I can just DELETE it off my phone so I can add my new email address? Remember, when I try to edit or delete it from my phone my phone seems to want to try to hook up to yahoo on line which it can't do anymore. The account is closed.

Thanks,

Larry

Re: Email Problem

Hiya!
Probably the easiest thing to do would be to go to the website.. I'm with Rogers so I go to rogers.blackberry.com
from there you can login and delete/add an email account.

keep in mind, since registering to the BIS server, your phone needs to have an email registered, so you may have to simply ADD your new email first, then delete the old one.

Failing that, call your carrier, they should be able to do it too.

Re: Email Problem

I can go to the yahoo email site but I can not get on my email account even from there. I'm retired and my son created the account and he don't remember the answers to the questions you need to have to have your email password sent to you. I'm locked out for good on that email address. When I try to go there on my phone or even create a new email from my phone or add a new email my phone just keeps trying to hook up with yahoo on my old email and comes back saying it can't log in. Is there any way of just deleting that email account from my phone then I can put in a new email address.

Thanks for your help

Re: Email Problem

Yes, and I answered that in my previous post.... the only way I could be more specific is if I knew who your carrier was.

the website would be http://att.blackberry.com

you can login there and delete the email. If you need to, you can create the login.
