On my home screen, I have six mailbox icons, for my six most frequently used email accounts.

If I don't touch the phone, and let it just sit on the desk for a while, the icons get shuffled around on the screen.

For example, I want them to display in this order:   1 2 3 4 5 6.  So I moved them into that order.

A few minutes later, they are in this order: 1 2 5 6 3 4.

Why is this happening, and how can I stop it from happening?

This is on the "All" view on the desktop, not the Favorites or Frequently Used views.

This is a brand new Verizon Bold 9650 with 6.0.0.431 which I got yesterday.

Can you tell why it is 1 2 5 6 3 4? Is it alphabetical by title? If you can discover why it is chosing that order, we might be able to figure out how to get it to stop.

I have not seen this behavior, myself. Of course, I don't use an OS 6 phone daily.

Hi - thanks for the reply. They are not alphabetical. I re-sorted them yesterday, and looking at it now, they are in this order:

1. Desktop  (this one is my BES account from work, which is jw...@gui...

2. jo...@gmail.com  (this is the correct #2)

3. jn...@gmail.com  (this should be #5)

4. ar...@gmail.com  (this should be #6)

5. jo...@jo....com  (this should be #4)

6. w2..@co...net  (this should be #3)

This current order is similar to the order I saw before (1 2 5 6 3 4) but not exactly the same. (It's now 1 2 5 6 4 3.)

Also, if I sort them as desired, then check Show All, then uncheck Show All, they also get re-sorted.

This sounds familiar. Did you have another thread about this? I don't know the answer.

Hi - Yes, I had started that other thread first, when I observed the problem happening with Show All / Unshow All. 

The wording of that post was not very good, and nobody replied. So when I discovered the problem was more widespread, I created this thread to more clearly explain the issue, since I couldn't edit the other one.  (Or can I?  I'd like to just delete it.)

I have to say, this problem is super annoying.  Surely others must be having it, no? 

I rearrange my folders into the desired order, put the BlackBerry on my nightstand for the night, and when I wake up the next morning, voila, they have been rearranged.  (And no, there is nobody else in the house.  :-)

There is also a related problem: If you do some combination of hiding and unhiding some icons, what can also happen is that the same mail folder shows up twice.  Right now, I am seeing my six folders in this order:  1, 3, 3, 2, 5, 4.    Yes, that's right - number 6 is gone, and number 3 is there twice. So now I have no way to view my email on account #6.   

Also, I no longer have a Setup folder on my home screen, and I don't know how to get it back.  (And I did not delete it.)

Also, when I marked GoogleTalk as a Favorite, then went to the Favorites view, it was there twice - once in the middle of the set of icons, and again at the very end.    These issues all seem similar/related.

Not really a "fix". But I've actually created a separate folder called "Email" and placed my email icons in there. I don't know if you want to give it a try and see if the icons still get rearranged in the EMail folder.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm guessing it would work.  I will try it, just to find out, but it's an undesirable workaround, as I want to be able to see -handsfree- which accounts have unopened emails.   I can set up distinct chimes for each account, but that's getting fancy, and anyway, my phone is on vibrate 99.5% of the time, so I'd have to be counting vibrations to see which account it was that got the mail.

I'm curious - do you have the same O/S (6.0.0.431) that I have?
If so, if you have multiple emails, and you put them all on the top row of your "All" view, do you find that they will stay where you put them, or that they will rearrange themselves like mine are doing?
