Email messages are truncated - even though only 45 kB

Hi all,

I've bought and set up my new Bold 9900 yesterday. Everything seems to be working fine, but email reception shows me some problems.

I'm receiving all my messages they are not being shown to full extent though.

I have the following settings:

Message Display and Actions, Auto More checked

Email Preferences: Enable HTML checked, Download images automatically checked, confirm external image download not checked

Now, just for example I receive the "I can has cheezburger" newsletter which is about 45 kB and includes links to external pictures.

The Bold doesn't load the pictures and it truncates the message and shows "Truncated 15397 bytes".

"More", "more all" doesn't load the rest of the message.

Any hints, solutions would be very helpful!

Thanks in advance!

Re: Email messages are truncated - even though only 45 kB

So, for some reason RIM continues to maintain message trucation in BIS.  I've brought this up directly to RIM representatives, but they don't seem concerned that Android/iOS don't truncate messages.  I find message truncation a real irritation.  My understanding is that BIS truncates compressed HTML messages at 60kB... I don't know why it would truncate a 45kB message.

Here are some specifics from a link on crackberry that talks about BIS 4.1 that should roll out in the US around Oct 8th:

Among the improvements will be an increase of email size from 6M to 11M. For compressed HTML messages, the size limit will increase from 60kb to 300kb.  It's not clear if the message size improvements will apply to pre-OS7 devices. (Don't ask me why that would be....)

Also, when a BIS account is setup, it will pull up to the last 20 emails from the synced account. This is intended to let users know that the BIS account is setup correctly.

And finally, when there is a security wipe done to a device, BIS will stop forwarding emails to that device until the user validates their passwords. Thus, it will eliminte the problem where a person switches devices but the old device still receives emails from previously synced accounts.
