Email not working after SIM change

Hi,

I have a problem with my email accounts on my device. I unlocked the phone through my provider and used it with another SIM while I was abroad. All worked fine.

When I switched the UK SIM into my phone, the emails that were registred on my device were not working.

I went to Setup, selected Email Accounts (Internet Mail Account), entered the page "Email Account Activation" where my email address is saved.

I clicked on it, added my password and clicked on verify. A page opens snd says: "Sorry, unable to continue your session. Please log in again."

I tried to reboot the device several times and it is always the same.

Can someone let me know what I should do?

Thanks!!

Re: Email not working after SIM change

Likely, your device registration has 'stuck' on the old SIM.

You may need to call your mobile provider and ask them re-register your PIN and IMEI to this device.

Also, try this.

Please try this FIRST, using your BlackBerry browser...

1)
• Go to mobile.blackberry.com OR to www.blackberry.com/integrate
• Scroll down to Communication and then to Email.
• Choose the appropriate email set up options.

If that works and completes your email setup/editing, good.

If not, follow these additional instructions:

2) Register HRT: (OS5) Home Screen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Scroll to any line entry and > press the Menu key > and then click Register Now. If you have an OS 6 or OS 7 device, Look at Options > Device > Advanced > Host Routing Table, etc.

3) Resend Service Books: Article ID: KB02830 How to send the service books for a BlackBerry Internet Service account. http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830

4) Then, with the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.

5) Now, return to the 1) mobile.blackberry.com email setup as mentioned above and follow that.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you!

Re: Email not working after SIM change

Hi, I have a similar problem that I'm hoping you may have an idea on how to fix.

Following a replacement of  the SIM - same phone number, same carrier, the gmail app stopped working and any attept to use it resluts in "An unexpected error occurred during program execution,. Please try your operation again."

Goggling the error message has not provided a working fix. Neither did either of your suggestions in this post. I'm aware that goggle no longer offers or supports this app but accessing gmail through the browser is just not a realistic solution - no notification for example. Corporate email still works and other users of the gmail app on the same model phone in the office still work.

Do any ideas come to mind.

Re: Email not working after SIM change

Wick, can you try uninstalling, rebooting and re-installing the app?
