I have a strange issue with my 9900. I can only go back to 7th January with my emails.
I had this phone replaced several weeks ago, but I copied all my emails over (and checked they were there).
And now many of my emails have gone missing.
What on earth could be causing that?
This Bold has all sorts of odd issues, from memory leakage to emails disappearing. ![]()

On your 9900, please open the Messages folder.
Press the Menu key > Options
Click on the Message Display and Actions
Scroll down to the bottom to Days to Keep Messages... what is yours set to?
Also, do you check email any where else, such as downloading to Outlook on your PC or via a web server where you might have deleted email?

Are you sure your Windows Mail does not delete from server?
Will you check?

I have double checked. In the Advanced tab of Windows Mail, "Leave a copy of messages on server" is ticked, and the further two boxes are unticked.
I have also check my webmail, and there are eamils going back to early December 2012.
When I copied emails from one Blackberry to this Blackberry, I told it to copy them all across.
I can't say I checked they went across, only that when I went into the folders, I saw emails so assume it just did it - why would it only do "some"? So I think my assumption was satisfactory.

OK, so I think we're dealing with two things here..
1. I read your recent thread on app memory, etc. http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-
2. When you did transfer the messages on January 7, did you notice then if the old messages did not transfer?

Sorry, I don't know what you assumed.
When I do a restore, I do check to see if whatever it was actually restored.
Just trying to help you here...

Yes I accept you are tryign to help, and I appreciate it.
But are you saying, if one moves data from one device to another, they have to check that if there were 200 emails on the acccount on one device (is there a means to count?), that there are 200 on the new one?
A backup and restore, or a "copy", to me is just that. If the software doesn't do that, then that is another flaw.
I personally don't think that is the cause. I think the cause is the bug in the other thread, as that would make a little more sense, based on what's been said and experienced by another. But I shan't go into that here, as it's not the right thread.

I don't know how are what you restored, and it sounds like you might not either.
so, now, it's impossible to tell, but if you still have that backup,.... we can look.
If you can do it with getting frothed up, let me know.
