Fatal error in updating handheld software application

Upon connecting my handheld with BB Desktop Manager, I was notified that there were updates available for my handheld. When I tried to do so, I got the message "Fatal error in updating ..."  What does this mean? How can I remedy this?

Re: Fatal error in updating handheld software application

Most of the time, the "fatal error" indicates you are not using a proper powered USB port for the USB cable connection.

Try connecting your USB cable to another REAR PC port, not a front PC or USB hub port.

Re: Fatal error in updating handheld software application

Thanks for coming to my assistance.

I tried following your suggestion and plugged the USB cable at the rear port. However I still got the same "fatal error" message. What can I do next?
