Accepted Solution

Flash Player

I am new to BlackBerry but thought I was getting a good smart phone.  Now I find out I can't play videos i.e. news, etc. without Adobe Flash Player and there is NOT an Adobe Flash Player available for the BB.  Is there a solution?  Or will I have to get a smart phone wiith a windows operating system??

Re: Flash Player

Flash support for BlackBerry phones is reportedly on the way. In the meantime, take comfort in knowing that very few phones support Flash. Many sites offer mobile versions, m.facebook.com for example, from which you can view videos on your BlackBerry.

I hope that helps you. :smileyhappy:

Re: Flash Player

I had high hopes you had the solution.  I just keep finding more problems. I had a Facebook account registered with my Blackberry but Facebook isn't recognizing it and not giving me the option of an email response.  Sigh... color me not giving up (yet).

Re: Flash Player

It took some time and some fiddling with Facebook but I finally used your suggestion and got a video to play beautifully.  I prefer more precise instruction but I managed to figure out my problem.  Speaking of precise reminds of my dear father.  He was absolutely the best "go to" person if you ever needed driving directions. Sure do miss him.

Re: Flash Player

I'm glad you got things sorted out.

In the future, don't be afraid to ask upfront for very detailed instructions.  Some of my responses are quite long-winded due to people asking to have things spelled out for them, so don't hesitate to state such in your query.

Oh, welcome to the Forums, by the way!  :smileyhappy:

Re: Flash Player

It's now May, 2012 and neither RIM nor Adobe list any information about Flash for BB. Any news?

Re: Flash Player

An official response to a forward-thinking question such as yours? Don't hold your breath. It's a standard industry practice to not hint at what is upcoming until an official launch. For now, RIM will confirm that the PlayBook supports Flash but that's about all you'll hear.

Cheers. :smileyhappy:
