Former Friend/suitor refuse to return borrowed Blackberry 9900

About a couple of weeks ago, I lend a friend of mine (lets say a suitor) my own blackberry unit (which is 5 months old). However, after lending him the  items (unit, charger). He immediately change and stops talking me and acts if I have wronged him, due to a miss understanding. I started to asked to return my phone but he said he throw it in the water. another day he has another reason that he give it away to his nephew as a gift... and he said if he has given the chance to have money he will replaced it..but I doubt..He is trying to prolong the situation until i totally forget it. I have tried to contact him but he hangs up on the phone when he hears me. and when we get to see, he is changing the topic and i cannot stress the subject especially for the phone. He's attitude change everytime i will remind him about the phone and he is trying to show to me how cheap I am to chase for the phone.

I don want to report this complain to police because he is still my friend and I personally do not want to take dramatic action, but I need the phone back. by the way, I am in arab country and i dont want to deal with arab police because they could do something to reverse the situation...

if there is no chane to return it, i wanna blocked this unit soo that they could not used the unit.

At this point what can I do? how i will blocke this unit...please help me without police report... I have all the information, receipt  and even bo\x of my celphone and headset...please help me

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Unfortunately, there is normally no way to do what you desire without involving the authorities. But, maybe your carrier (Etistalat) will help you out? They control everything, so perhaps they will help you without your having to go first to the police.

Good luck!

Re: Former Friend/suitor refuse to return borrowed Blackberry 9900

thank you so much...this is arab country...they will think something why i lend my phone to him..

he is my friend..and in this country it;s not allowed to have friends with guy. not recognized to be friends with men...unless he is your finace...

it's still the law will prevail...that's the reason why i can't complain to police....

police will follow the law first...

but somehow they will listen to woman case...so i will try still
