Google Apps Calendar issues

Hello

 

Can anyone show me how to set up my Google Apps calendar on my Bold 9000? I used to use Google Sync, but that doesn't work anymore (despite Google saying that Google Sync should still work for Google Apps for Education). Google search results say to use BIS but I don't know what that is or how to use it.

You can synchronize the Google calendar using the BlackBerry Internet Service. (If you have a Google Mail email account added on your BlackBerry Bold 9000).

Thanks very much for this.

 

I've followed the steps, but I'm not getting any appointments appearing on my BB. I have wireless sync turned off as wifi doesn't work at my office, so I am using my data plan over 3G. 

 

I also can't find any command to force the calendar to sync (as I could with Google Sync).

Hey kiwimuso,

 

Thanks for the quick reply.

 

You state you turned off wireless synchronization?  This needs to be enabled to get the calendar entries on the BlackBerry smartphone.  Also it can take up to 30 minutes for the calendar appointment to appear.  

 

Follow the steps below to force a synchronization:

 

Calendar

1. Click the BlackBerry menu key > Options > under Accounts click the Gmail account > remove the Checkmark from Wireless Synchronization > click the Back menu key and Save
2. Under Accounts click the Gmail account > place a Checkmark in the Wireless Synchronization   box > click the Back menu key and Save

Note: The following prompt will appear " Some of your calendar changes might be lost. Enable wireless Calendar?" Yes or No. Click Yes

Hi,

 

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately, nothing has synchronised yet. I turned wireless synchronisation back on again, and that was yesterday. Today there are still no appointments in my Calendar.

 

I am using 3G data rather than wi-fi, does this make any difference? Wifi doesn't work here as it needs a proxy and the BB bold doesn't support a proxy.

Can you send me a private message with your PIN number so I can investigate further?  How many calendar appointments do you have on the BlackBerry smartphone or in Gmail (an estimate)?

Thanks for providing the PIN Kiwimuso,

 

I do see the calendar synchronization is enabled.  If you add a new calendar entry from the web intraface (Gmail.com or the Gmail Business site) and let it go for 30 minutes do you receive just this entry on the BlackBerry smartphone?

 

Also do the same step on the BlackBerry smartphone, do you see it on Gmail.com or the Gmail Business site?

Hi there.

 

Last week I created 5 appointments in my Google Apps calendar for next week, but they are not showing up on my BB. I have also created an appointment on my BB for June 12th but that has not shown up on my desktop calendar. I created it over a week ago.

Due to the complexity of this Google calendar synchronization,  I would suggest contacting your network service provider and ask to be transferred to BlackBerry.

 

We are going to need to gather some logs from the BlackBerry Bold 9000 smartphone to further investigate.
