Google Sync : Login Failed , Due to Network problems.

I downloaded the latest Google Sync version 0.5.13 and it synced fine for about a week. Now I am getting the error

"Login Failed, due to network problems, please check your settings" . I reinstalled, rebooted etc... and still the same.

My provider is mystified as well. Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks

Re: Google Sync : Login Failed , Due to Network problems.

I am also having the same problem.  I have a BB Bold on Orange in the UK.  My problems started after I loaded the latest BB desktop software and the latest device software.  My email and phone work fine.  Just not able to sync calendar and contacts.  When I try to do a manual sync, I am asked to sign into my account. When I try to sign in, I get the same response.

I also noticed that when I am in my calendar on my BB and go into Options, I have 2 calendars listed - device default and my email.  When I click on the calendar properties, i noticed that the wireless sync is set to 'no'.  I wonder if this is causing the problem.  I am not able to change this.  Any suggestions are welcomed.  I am totally frustrated.

[ Edited ]

same problem here using Orange, Switzerland

BB Curve 8900

After contacting my Service Provider (Orange) they set up an update. After restarting my BB everything worked fine as usual. According to Orange, this probelm tends to occur when you change or add a subscription to your blackberry mobile service.

Re: Google Sync : Login Failed , Due to Network problems.

I agree. I had similar issue, thus the carrier will never admit this.

I was on BES for log time. Then we moved to GoogleApps and I used Google Sync to synchronize my calendar and contacts. 'Suddenly' I began to receive the Login error as said above.

By mistake I navigated to the BIS page of my carrier and 'somehow' registered the handheld on BIS. Obviously I had BIS enabled, even I didn't know that. After I registered the handheld again, Google Sync began to work normally again. Something similar happened also to my co-worker, just he didn't have BIS enabled. So he asked the carrier to enable it. And the Google Sync began to work normally before the BIS was enabled. I think that the carrier was 'doing something' with the accounts, which caused the unexpected behavior.

Regarding the multiple calendar entries: also in my case I got two calendar and three contact entries. Of course, contacts were tripled and calendar doubled. I found on this forum the solution (cannot remember the post, try to search): go to settings of contacts and calendar, disable wireless synchronization and type "rset"+confirm with "Yes". This command (according to what I read and what I did) wipes the entries on your server (I believe BES). From than on, my calendar and contacts are normally synchronized by Google Sync.

Don't take this for a 100% solution, just try to figure out, if my experience can help to solve your similar problems.

Enjoy!
