Re: HELP! OS upgrade stuck on step 11 of 12

Mine is all fixed.

I believe my root problem was a Desktop Manager memory issue.

I redid everything on order a few more times and the same problem came back.

Not until I added my Third Party  Apps back slowly (a dozen or so at a time), did I get it to work.

I just have a few more to restore and I'll be back with an upgrades OS.

Here's what I did:

  1. Pull the battery from the BB
  2. Connect the BB to the PC (I use USB)
  3. Via DM, select Application Loader
  4. (I don't remember exactly you insert the battery, but at some point the BB will reboot and DM will tell you it cannot see the BB.  At that point, insert the battery).
  5. Application Loader will do three things (I forget what they are, but something to do with JVM) that scans the BB and shows you what's on it.
  6. You should see the OS components selected
  7. (Here's where I tried selecting all things I had installed before the OS upgrade - not sure what the limit is, but I definitely hit it).  I selected the main apps I use every day.
  8. Presses Next and off it went doing stuff.
  9. I ran the BB for a bit, then restarted the process again from step 2, each time adding some more third party apps.
Enjoy!

BB stuck initializing

I have a company BB and today we migrated everything to the google cloud so I had to migrate my BB.

I download the BB desktop and it asked me for my device password which I proceeded to get wrong 10 times (because I was putting in the numbers that it is on my device, not the letters this corresponds to on the laptop). I finally figured out what I had done wrong and put in the right password, but now it's stuck initialising for 20 mins at a time, I ended the programme and tried again but it's still trying to initialise.

What do I do????

Did you initiate a security wipe after the ten wrong password entries?
