Hello, I'm New to the Forum and have a couple questions

I own a Black Berry Bold 9000. Every time my accessory memory gets low, the little black dial appears in the middle of my phone and rotates until it becomes unnerving. I start deleting text messages and even some games I may have downloaded to make it stop, but it soon starts all over again a week or two later.  Help!

1. Why cant I save accessories to my device memory? My accessory is always near full.

2. Is the device memory only used for pictures and videos?

3. I am presently typing long correspondances on my memo pad, isn't there something similar to a Micro-soft Word format that I can use to type and save a message?

4. How do I get Word to Go, Slides to Go, and Sheet to Go to work?

5. I enjoy watching my pictures in slide show, is there a way to keep the slide show rotating?

I have had my Bold for a year and it's my first black berry. I hope some of you who are familiar with the phone can help. I'm almost ready to give up and get an i phone. What good is it to visit App World and cant save the apps to my phone because no memory is available, when tons of memory is available in my device memory....Help!!!

I'm thanking you in advance for your assistance.

What, exactly, do you mean by "accessorry memory" -- there is no such statistic on the device that I am aware of. There is AppMemory, Device Memory, and Media Card Memory.

Nevertheless, anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

What is an "accessory" that you are trying to save? If you mean applications, then the answer is simple...BB's are designed with AppMemory being the sole place to which applications can be installed. Period. There are some add-ons that will swap apps in and out of AppMemory as you use them, but those are only tricks...for an app to run, it must be installed into AppMemory. Period.

Just like a PC hard drive, Device Memory is available for you to store any kind of file that you desire. Document, Pictures, Videos, spreadsheets, etc. etc. etc. Anything you want.

The ToGo apps include Word To Go...I suppose you could type things there and then cut/paste the text into a message when you are ready to send. But it won't be the message itself in the ToGo app...just a document...you will need to cut/paste the text into the native messaging interface.

They work. Perhaps if you provide details of precisely what you are trying to do, precisely what you expect to happen, and precisely what does happen...then we might be able to help. But lacking that, we'd only be guessing.

I don't think so. You must remember that these devices are battery operated...running things that constantly are doing something would drain down the battery. But you can always shop around to see if someone has developed an add-on app that does something like that.

It is too bad that you did not find these forums sooner. While many experience problems (a search here will reveal that fact), there are also many who have very positive experiences with their BB. Not every device is suitable for everyone -- which IMHO is why there are so many choices.

Good luck!
