I CAN'T FIX IT.HELP! :'(

[ Edited ]

I am new in this forum.

BB 9700 v5.0.0.321 (platform 5.1.0.90)

I have this problem, my phone suddenly reboots repeteadly and i don't know why.

i already searched for any solutions and applied it but still it won't fix. i tried security wipe, reloading os and even deleting some vendor file or something. i can't think of any another solution and why this suddenly happens. PLEASE HELP! :'( i don't want new phone since this has a great sentimental value. thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

You've already tried a few things, so here is perhaps more that you can attempt.

It is possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:

  1. Obtain a known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
  2. Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens

The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem.

You may also want to investigate the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe it is capable of.

You may also want to try this procedure to perhaps narrow down the precise causal item:

  1. Load your OS "bare bones"...if anything is optional, do not install it.
  2. If the behavior presents immediately, then try a different OS with step 1
  3. If the behavior does not immediately present, then run for as long as it takes for you to be sure that the behavior will not present.
  4. Add one thing -- no matter how tempting, just one.
  5. If the behavior does not present immediately, then again run for long enough to be sure it will not have the same problem
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are loaded or the behavior presents

When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.

If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.

If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.

Good luck and let us know!

Re: I CAN'T FIX IT.HELP! :'(

When you conduct the OS loading process, there will be a screen with a list of items to be installed and tic boxes on the right hand side of the screen. Any tic box that you can control, ensure that it's not checked...install the minimum amount of things to the BB as possible ("bare bones").

Re: I CAN'T FIX IT.HELP! :'(

I am confused. I've given you a process to try and help, and even explained further some points you did not understand. Now you are talking not being able to find any help at all?

I am very confused by you. Since you don't want to pay for any help, you are left with what you get for free from volunteers here. But, you must participate...your post here makes me think that you just want to ignore all that we have done so far. Is that the case?

It's OK if you want to ignore me...no problem for me. Just please do be honest about it and help me to not be confused by your posts.

Re: I CAN'T FIX IT.HELP! :'(

Ahhh...OK, now I understand...thank you.

Since your BB has already been in the hands of a qualified hardware technician, then it would be useless to try, at an internet distance, to second guess that. Their diagnosis may be final...and your BB may well be dead.

Further, you recall that I earlier said:

  • If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.

Since you now say that you have done all that I previously advised, then that last statement likely also holds true, and you have a hardware problem, for which nothing can be done at an internet distance. Hence, we must defer to the shop technicians again.

Sorry for your loss.

Good luck!

Re: I CAN'T FIX IT.HELP! :'(

[ Edited ]

i tried it again, updating the OS, now it's v6 the latest of BOLD 9700..it updates and goes smoothly when i scroll it..but whenever i type or test it, it suddenly freezes and red light will come up and then reboots..

but days ago i went to the repair shop i told them my problem and they said THE PROGRAM/SOFTWARE is corrupted or something like that..since they are the technicians they will be able to find the cause right?then how come they only said that it was just the program and not the hardware?i brought it there twice with the same issue and they said WE'LL REPROGRAM IT AGAIN..

well, i'll bring this again to the repair shop and ask if there's a hardware problem..

thanks for te help ^_^ really appreciated.

Re: I CAN'T FIX IT.HELP! :'(

Good luck. It is impossible for me to know the competence level of the technicians you are working with. Perhaps when you explain these additional symptoms to them, they will alter their diagnosis.

Good luck!
