My Device: Blackberry Bold 9900
My Carrier: Telus

I have a hard locked Blackberry Bold 9900, is there someone/business that can unlock the hard lock?

[ Edited ]

I contacted Telus in Canada, and they have no record of the phone, even looking it up with it's ID.  Since it is not in there system, they could not help me.   The phone was originally under Telus.  I would like to change it to a USA carrier.  Telus-Canada could not help.  Is there a business that can remove the hard lock from the phone?

I contacted Blackberry directly they kept indicating that it is locked, but I am sure it is hard locked.  They then transferred my call to Telus-Canada and they couldn't locate the ID.

I didn't get any help from Blackberry or Telus Canada.  I am in the position that I just want to sell the phone as is now.  I have been working on this for 5 days.

Hi and Welcome to the Community...apologies for the delay...hopefully you already have your answer, but just in case!

Once a BB is hard-locked to it's originally-manufactured for carrier, the only place that can legally unlock it is the RIM factory. I've heard that, even if they should agree to doing so (which, it seems, they have denied you), the cost to do so would exceed the cost of purchasing a new device.

If indeed you proceed to sell it as is, I do hope you will fully disclose the hard lock situation so that the buyer is not stuck with a useless device that was not properly represented...passing that buck along would not I think fit into a "pay it forward" outlook in life.

Good luck!
