For the handset not to make a noise when you get  a text whilst having the music player/headphones in use?

 

Im a postman and listen to music doing my round, with my phone in my pocket - and I get important texts whilst im out, but my phone never makes a noise when I get text/emails.

Hello,

 

It is 100% under your control. Via the Sounds or Profiles app, you control the alerts and notifications that you receive on your BB. There is no "normal".

I have it set to this> sounds and ringtones> sounds for selected profile> normal>messages - notifiers> text messages> volume 10,play sound always,notify me during calls yes. Still doesnt make a noise when I have the music playing :-(

Santa, once you've applied the sounds that you describe, are you pressing the menu key (the BB button to the left of the trackpad) and selecting Save?
