Insert SIM -SOS Unable to make calls/sms

Phone not working.  Turned off for flight and upon arrival at restart phone decided to no loger read SIM.  Get error message INSERT SIM.  If I turn off mobile network and then turn on it picks up signal just for a second and then goes to SOS.  I have tried to reboot, remove clean and reinsert sim, add piece of thin paper to make sim connection tighter.....all to no avail! 


Anyone know how to resolve this issue?  I have even tried a hard reset that deleted all personal information and still nothing works.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

From what you describe, you've done all that can be tried without additional support. The next step would be to contact your mobile service/SIM provider to replace the SIM...it is possible that it went bad (an unlikely coincidence, but certainly possible). Or, your BB itself could have gone bad, requiring service of it. In either case, you need more support than can be provided at an internet distance.
