From your homescreen, go to Options>Device>Device and Status Information. Type in the word "test" without quotations. There will be no field in which to enter it and nothing will appear on your screen. Just type it in. Click OK to start the test, press the menu key and select Start. Next, decide if you want to be guided through the test. On the next screen, check the box beside GPS and click Run at the bottom. Go outside and perform the test and let us know what happens.

That's a great utility to use when you need to test any aspect of your phone.
Make sure to keep it handy!

On GSM BlackBerrys you can also use this method below:
On all model BlackBerrys, first make certain that you in an area of good signal coverage AND outside with a clear view of the sky in an open area of no tall buildings.
For GSM network devices, do this:
Click Options > Advanced > GPS > Menu > Refresh GPS.
Give it up to 10 minutes to refresh, and try 2-3 times in a row.
For the OS6 and/or the 9800 model:
1. On the Home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon.
2. Click Device > Location Settings.
3. Press the Menu key > Refresh GPS.

I tried the solutions posted on this thread and it is a no go I get
a timed out waiting for location message. I always had the GPS working on
my phone before the OS 6 upgrade. I am a T-mobile customer and
using their offical release of the OS. It is build .448. How can I get
the GPS working again??
