KEEP LOSING MY SIGNAL

I'm on o2 contract and i have recently had problems with my phone. My scroll pad wasn't working so i've updated my software ect, i have even took my phone apart myself and replaced the pad. I don't know what happened but it started working, but i've noticed i keep losing signal, i can turn the mobile network off and back on but it makes no difference, i have also changed network mode to manual but this hasn't helped either. I would appreicate some help, as i just get on thing sorted then something else plays up! currently pulling my hair out...
