Hi,
I have two BB Bolds that are having long delays in retriving emails.
The first email took 6 minutes to arrive on the bold (the email instantly appeared on outlook after being sent)
The second email took 25 minutes.
The thir email took 10 minutes.
Signal strength is strong -70 dbm.
The Bolds are activated on a BES server.
During the activation it gave me the following error.
"Some databases failed to synchronize: Handheld Agent" Looking up the problem indicates that I am using an old BES.
Unfortantly our BES admin only supplies activation passwords and no support.
Would a BB Bold have delays if the BES is an old version?
Or has anyone experienced this and fixed it?
Im willing to try out anything!

Thanks Bifocal I will check it out.
Another thing has come to mind to mention.
The BES has around 20 mailboxes with various blackberries but they are not experiencing the problem.
We are the only Bold (two devices) users and we are experiencing the problem.

this will require in depth troubleshooting on BES side. lot of factors can playa role here.
The 2 affected users: are they on smae exchnage server/mailbox store as other BB users?
whats the ping time between bb server and ech server?
is it possible to reboot the blackberry server?
whats the ver of bb server?
nect things will bes and application logs from windows event viewer and all the above also require besadmin to be helping us answering all above questions. if they dont wanna provide any support ask them to reboot BES or may be replacing them since they are of no use

Hi BBsingh,
The two users are on the same exchange/BES but they are the only BB Bolds on the BES. Everyone else on the BES do not experience the problem. The BES version is 4.046.
I have talked to another BB Bold user that uses the same Service provider and she says she doesnt experience the problem at all. The BES she uses is a different one but has the same Hardware and a different BES version (4.049)
Would anyone know if Bolds have a miniumum BES requirement? or have used a Bold on BES 4.046 with no problem?
But yeah thats really all the information I can provide. If the difference in versions dont appear to be important I think I will be out of all ideas.
Thanks for your reply,
Chrisp

A reboot of the server has fixed the problem.
However they only did it for a MS patch...
Apparenlty they never restart the server, im not sure if its good or not but hey its fixed our problem.
However it seems like their opinion it was still the device rather then there almighty BES
Thanks both of you for taking the time to look into this. ![]()
