Maps on Blackberry phones

While trying to view maps on blackberry phone, got problems in displaying them. A white screen appears in place of maps. Able to pan/ zoom into the white screen and it displays white screen.

What could be the reason?

Help needed.

Note: My phone has proper network connection - able to browse sites from the browser.

The phone I use is bold 9700. Also tried maps in 3 other phones.

Thanks in advance,

Gowrish

Re: Maps on Blackberry phones

Hi growrishg

Where are you located and who is your wireless provider?

Thanks

Re: Maps on Blackberry phones

Hi,

A few hours back figured the solution.

Singapore - (ServiceProvide: Singtel)

Used a SIM with blackberry service enabled and the Maps work now.

So explicitely setting APN also helped to solve the problem.

Re: Maps on Blackberry phones

Ah, ok.  So you did not have a BlackBerry enabled SIM in your device?  This would make sense as BlackBerry Maps requires a BlackBerry data plan.

Thanks
