Media Card cannot be read or formatted

I stuck in my SanDisk 4 gig card into my bold and I got a message saying media card had been inserted. When I go to options - memory it shows a message that says:

"media card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is formatted."

I then try formatting the card but I get a message that reads : Media Card Format Failed.

I can read the card on my PC, but the bold just won't do anything with it except tell me when I've put it in or pulled it out.

Anyone know how to solve this?

Thanks

Re: Media Card cannot be read or formatted

Could be just a bad card. I had to exchange my media card the same day I bought it. What I have gotten accustomed to doing is, if you buy it from a corporate cell store, open it, and make sure it is working properly before you leave the store to save some frustration.

Re: Media Card cannot be read or formatted

OMG! After spending hours reading stuff I finally got it to work.

All I had to do was turn off the phone and take out the battery then put it back in.

I could just kick myself!
